The New Jacket

This trend peeked its head out of the water last winter seen on runways and celebrities, but I have a feeling it's going to make a big splash this fall with the fashion opinion leaders, major vendors like H&M and forever, and become more well known.

Ladies and (gay) gentlemen, this brings me to The Studded Jacket, the new jacket.

This lil sweetie is by Burberry (Thank you, Christopher Bailey for turning Burberry into an even more bad ass brand) and retails at $5,995. Now all you have to do is win the lottery!!!!

This jacket reminds me of a good friend, Sam Edelman, and his "Lorissa" heel. My coworker has these in nude, and my heart is filled with a passionate jealous rage towards her.

Anyways.......

B-Spears donned this studded jacket trend on her "Til the World Ends" music video. I'm not going to lie, I saw her in concert in the second grade, and SHAVED HEAD OR NOT I will always be a loyal fan. I will dance with you til the world ends, Brit. Wearing a studded jacket also, except mine being from target.

But to be honest with you, I'm even more partial to this studded beauty by Givenchy. Look at the cute little Olsen girl wearing those monster oversized studs!!! I may not be an Olsen but those studs would totes make me feel daintier.

And we ALL know a trend isn't an official trend-trend until a Kardashian is sporting it. This jacket is also by Burberry's Prorsum Spring 2011 collection.

STUDDED PENCIL SKIRT?!?!?!? DOTH MY EYES DECEIVE ME?????????? Burberry gon' give my poor fashion lovin' heart a fashion-heart-attack! This is also from the Prorsum collection, seen here on Kate Bosworth's little fetus body.

I for one, am ALL about this new studded revolution. I'm just going to need forever21 to whip these out pretty soon, or else I'm going to have to go down to Hobby Lobby, buy out the crafts isle, and be a hot mess in my version of this Burberry business. Either way, I'll be sporting the crap out of this trend.

While I'm on the topic of outerwear, I'm going to give y'all a heads up for more jacket trends coming out based on my Fall 2011 research....

Floor length jackets. Reminiscent of maxi skirts/dresses? Me thinks this is no coincidence...

And finally, the cape. This beautiful creation is by the ever-fab, Rachel Zoe collection. This cape is all things perfect.

As seen on this model, who forgot to put her pants on, and has roots and a slightly confused expression.
